The Home Defense Class is held in our laser range. This class is designed for all individuals, families, and safety teams. We will take your home defensive training to the next level so you can be the best protector for yourself and your family. During the 2 hours, we will discuss steps to deter a home invasion, the best practices for dealing with home defense, home invasions, and how to put a plan in place for your family in your home. Then we will put those skills to the test with video scenario drills for two hours. Students are able to interact with real-life shoot or no-shoot scenarios. The course focuses on situational awareness, threat assessment, and reacting to life-threatening scenarios. We cover how to handle the aftermath of a deadly force situation with the police, emergency responders, and other people involved, and where the event occurred with bystanders.

Students can see firsthand how seconds count when things go wrong. Even a momentary hesitation or freeze may make the difference between staying safe and a much worse outcome. After just a few scenarios, it’s easy to see how the phrase “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away” truly applies to self-defense situations. We aim to build the right mindset and skills for students to become their own first responders.

The best way to prepare for a highly stressful self-defense situation is to practice. There’s no better way to practice than putting yourself in real-life video scenarios and having a knowledgeable instructor guide you on the best course of action. Unfortunately, you don’t get a second chance in real life to make the right decisions when these events happen. However, we offer a safe classroom setting allowing students to learn the proper self-defense skills, practice what they learned with that second chance, and better survive a deadly force encounter.

We offer 3 Video Scenario Self Defense Classes for Home, Vehicle & Workplace. This allows you to take the video scenario class several times and train with different scenarios and situation focus in each class. These scenario classes are the most important classes you can take to prepare yourself mentally for potentially deadly situations and encounters. Even if you do not carry a gun, this class helps improve your decision-making skills in these dangerous situations.

Equipment:

• No student equipment is needed for this class.
• Any student wanting to practice home defense scenarios with a pistol or AR will have a laser firearm and gear provided.
• If you have a concealed carry or home defense setup, we encourage you to bring it to use for the class. We have laser ammo for the following pistol calibers 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm & 45 Auto. Students will get the most out of this class if they use their regular concealed carry gun, holster, and clothing.

Weather and the Class:

This is an indoor class and is held regardless of the weather on class day.

We do not guarantee specific dates for classes as they may fill up. Class purchases are good for 1-year from the date of purchase and can be transferred to another person. 

Cancellation Policy:
All payments for a class, private training, event rental, and range reservation referred to as Session(s) are non-refundable unless Independence Firearms and Training cancels the Session. Students unable to attend a Session should call or text us at 870-614-8452 as soon as possible.

• Cancellations received more than 24 hours before the Session start time will receive a free full Session cost transfer credit that can be used towards any Session we offer within 1 year.
• Cancellations received with less than 24 hours, but before the Session start time receives 50% of the Session cost as transfer credit towards any Session we offer within 1 year.
• Any ‘No Call-No Shows’ at the start time of the Session are not eligible for a refund or Session credit.

Independence Firearms and Training holds Session regardless of the weather unless it is unsafe but reserves the right to cancel or reschedule Sessions at anytime. Students will be offered a rescheduled Session date or a full refund for the Session payment if a Session is canceled or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
